Two objects of equal mass are moving with equal speeds. They collide and move off together (perfectly inelastic collision) at half the value of their original speed. (a) What is the angle between their initial velocities? (b) What percentage of the kinetic energy remains after the collision?
a) Using only the following information:
• ∆H°f for NO (g) is +90.4 kJ/mol
• ∆H° = -56.6 kJ/mol for the reaction: NO (g) + 1/2 O2 (g) à NO2 (g) What is the ∆H°f for NO2 (g).
b) Using only your answer to (a) and the following information:
•∆H° = -283.0 kJ/mol for the reaction: CO (g) + 1/2 O2 (g) à CO2 (g)
What is the ∆H° for the reaction: 4 CO (g) + 2 NO2 (g) à 4 CO2 (g) + N2 (g)
c) A 10.0-L vessel contains 5.0 atm of CO and 3.0 atm of NO2 at 25°C. How much heat (in Joules) will
be liberated if this is allowed to react to completion according to the reaction in part (b)?
d) In a separate experiment using a very large reaction vessel with a movable piston, 6.00 moles of CO2 (g) reacts completely with 3.00 moles of nitrogen gas according to the following equation at 25°C and with a constant external pressure of 2.00 atm:
4CO2 (g) + N2 (g) –> 4CO(g) + 2NO2 (g)
This reaction proceeds to completion. What is ∆U, q, and w for this reaction under these conditions.
The Final Project requires you to develop a Training and Organizational Development (OD) proposal and presentation to senior management targeted at improving diversity training within an organization of your choice. Many organizations have extended the management of diversity programs beyond HRD programs and processes by changing human resource management (HRM) policies and programs to meet the special needs of the new workforce. A growing number of organizations are holding line management accountable for diversity goals. For example, incorporating diversity goals into their performance evaluation process, and measuring improvement in relation to pre-established target goals annually.
As the HRD manager of your organization, what new training programs and processes would you propose to senior management to develop effective recruiting and selection methods to attract more minorities and women to your organization? Explain how HRD methods can be used to help manage a culturally diverse workforce. For example, how will you overcome language and discrimination issues that will ultimately lead to a climate in which all employees can thrive within the organization and contribute to its success?
Describe, in as much detail as possible, the path that a single blood cell will make when travelling from an artery in the stomach back to that same artery by the shortest route possible. Include information about what is happening to that blood cell at the different locations (i.e., losing oxygen etc.).
Analyze and describe how social media could influence each stage of the Customer Decision Journey for a customer deciding where to go on vacation. Please be specific and cover each stage. Use the modified customer decision journey not the traditional journey.
Answer the following questions on Sustainability.
1. What are some benefits to improved sustainability of a supply chain?
2. What are some challenges that limit the effort put in by supply chains to improve sustainability.
3. Describe the “tragedy of the commons” in the context of supply chain sustainability. What are some “mutually coercive” mechanisms that could be implemented to encourage supply chain sustainability?
4. Discuss some reasons that we do not see more recycling or remanufacturing of products.
