Qn 2. Kraljic measures supply market complexity through:

  • Market concentration

  • Production capacity saturation

Consider a wholesale company (e.g., Walmart or Target). Try to list a variable that can be used as an alternative or in addition to one of the previous ones to measure strategic importance. Briefly justify your answer.

Qn 3. An elevator is designed for a specific building, considering such factors as the height of the building, the number of users on each floor and the expected usage periods. The number of components varies with the number of stories and the complexity of the design of the elevator. Customers provide functional requirements such as speed and capacity, desired style options, and the dimensions of the building. An appropriate set of elevator components is specified and ordered from the component suppliers. This is a high-variety, low-volume market in which competition is very high. As the cost of in-house manufacturing of components is much higher than the cost of outsourcing, manufacturers of elevators focus on design, assembly, marketing and sales, and most in-house component manufacturing has ceased.

Let’s consider the case of two different electric elevator manufacturers:

  • Company A is a Small Medium Enterprise (SME) that employs 73 employees and, in 2019, recorded $ 12 million in revenues. They offer 20 elevator variants using a make-to-order approach.
  • Company B is a bigger company that employs over 300 employees and, in 2019, recorded over $ 100 million in revenues. They offer over 100 elevator variants using a make-to-order approach.

The following figure compares the Kraljic matrix for the two companies. In both cases, the Kraljic matrix was designed using the same approach.

  1. Create a login demo video or screenshots and login code.
  2. Create a connection demo video or screenshots and connection code.

NOTE: You should have your detailed design and a development schedule.  One of the first things that you should do is to verify connections.  If you have a database, a simple login page is good to verify that your software can connect and read from the database.  If you are using two or more components, it’s good to verify that you can get them to interact.  Component integration frequently takes more time than anticipated, and it’s a good idea to work that out early rather than leaving it for later.  If you are using any environments or components for the first time, it’s good to verify that you all your pieces working at a basic level before doing detailed work.  In any case, this is the week to start your development in earnest!

Human resources (exercise to determine our own communication

Discussions: Self-disclosure can be a rewarding, but often challenging, exercise to determine our own communication challenges. The Johari Window offers a non-threatening model to help provide feedback and communication among peers and co-workers (see video under Content – Week 4 – Reading and Resources). Sometimes, we may forget about all the emotions present at work. Some of these emotions result from personal difficulties, work pressure and stress, and/or the ability to perform beyond our potential.

Based on your readings this week (see Content – Week 4 – Reading and Resources), and regardless of the emotions experienced at work, having a strategy to deal with emotions and conflicts can help to create a happier work environment. What proactive steps can be taken to hold our emotions in check in the face of ineffective communication and leadership practices? How can self-disclosure facilitate effective communication in the workplace? Be creative in your answer!

You may find appropriate articles at the end of each chapter, and/or identify articles through the APUS online Library. Finally, be sure that all discussions are answered in full, in order to ensure the best possible grade based on the work submitted.

Annointated bibliography | Criminal homework help

1  .American Psychological Association (APA) Style

b.  For each entry, include a 2-3 paragraph summary of the entry’s main  points and/or your overall evaluation of the reference.  The summary should be in your own words and not simply copied from the entry abstract or some other source; each citation summary should be written in complete sentences, typed, double-spaced, one-inch margins all around, 10-point font (10 entries total, 20 points per entry, submitted via Canvas no later than WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30 by 11:55pm).

c.  ALL bibliographic entries should be from scholarly journals or book chapters (either online or hard copy; NO WIKIPEDIA CITATIONS).   It is recommended that you consult electronic resources such as JSTOR, Google Scholar, and Google Books for the ten entries.  If an article is behind a pay site, you may still use it without reading the entire complete source.  Be sure to include the complete bibliographic citation and use the available abstract for your annotation.  DO NOT COPY THE ABSTRACT WORD-FOR-WORD: Paraphrase it and put it in your own words.

d.  The 10 entries should generally cover the theories/crime types covered in text. In other words, you should not turn in 10 citations on a single theory or type of crime; with flexibility you can draw from a variety of crime types/theories. There may be some repetition of content in your choices of chapters/articles, but the purpose is to thoroughly familiarize yourself with the information in the process of answering the weekly discussion questions. It is recommended that you search for articles while reading each chapter week-by-week, and choose references that will add to your knowledge of the theories and aid in answering the discussion questions.

e.  It will be easiest for you to research and choose your entries via electronic searches, but you may also search hard copy sources in a library.  I do not need nor want hard copy articles of your sources, but you must supply complete bibliographic citations per a and b above.

f.  The entries should be organized as a list alphabetized by author’s last name per APA Style.  The title should read ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR SYSTEMS.  This annotated bibliography should be typed (double-spaced, one-inch margins all around) and submitted to me via Canvas  no later than WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30 by 11:55pm.

g.  The Annotated Bibliography should be an original composition, not recycled from another class. Additionally, chapters from textbook should not be used as references in the bibliography.  If you have any questions, PLEASE CONTACT ME.

5320 unit 8 discussion 1 ethics and legalities collide

When Ethics and Legalities Collide

Each professional code of ethics includes a requirement to define limitations of confidentiality that are not always required by law. Legal mandates in some states can result in dilemmas when they conflict with standards in the code of ethics. For example, standards of confidentiality might conflict with a court order or a duty to protect a third party.

In your initial post, consider a situation such as the disclosure of HIV status or adolescent privacy standards for disclosure to parents without consent. Use the Tarvydas (2012) integrative approach to decision making (described in your textbook) to discuss how you would arrive at a decision about confidentiality or disclosure related to potential ethical dilemmas caused by conflicts between the code of ethics and legal requirements.
